Arthur Rutter - Roll of Honour

Carol Hindle has contacted me:

Hi.

Does anybody have information on the Arthur Rutter shown on Roll of Honour killed in action 16th Sept 1916?

Is he the 2nd husband of Esther Ford nee Brown, can anybody tell me - married to her 6th November 1905?

Regards Carol

There were three Rutter families in Glemsford at the 1901 Census, on Angel Lane, Egremont Street and Chequers Lane, but Arthur does not appear in any of them.

If anyone has any clues for Carol, leave a comment here, or you can email them to my address and I will forward them.

Rutter family researches

Maureen (I have her email address) has contacted me about her researches.

As always, if you are interested, or can take the story further, you may contact her via me.

SC

I have traced my RUTTER ancestors back to Joseph RUTTER b= Wickhambrook circa
1794.

He married Mary Amy HAGREEN at St. Petronilla, Whepstead in 1822.

Mary Amy's parents are James HAGREEN and Susan JACKSON.

They had the following children born in Glemsford:

Alfred in 1824
Emma Elizabeth in 1826
William in 1828
Mary Ann in 1829 (married a Thomas Edgley?)
Joseph in 1832
Sarah Anne in 1834
John Thomas in 1837
Jane in 1839?
Robert John in 1842.

If any of these names sound familiar to you I would love to hear from you.

Thank you,
Maureen

Murrils - Merrils - Medcalf

Another request for help:

I wonder if anyone could help me solve a Glemsford related puzzle please.

My 5 x gt Grandmother Mary Medcalf { maiden name MURRILS}, was bap in Glemsford in 1761 to ROBERT and MARY MURRILS.

I have since kindly been given a complete MURRILS/MERRILS family tree going back to the 1500s which is fantastic ... but now comes the inevitable snag. ... On the details for Robert Mary and Mary jnr everything is correct except that it has a death Date for for my 5 x gt grandmother which is confusing because she was producing a large family at Stradishall at the time and indeed after.

So is this my family or is it two people with the same family names and a daughter bap at the same time and date or simply is the death date wrong on the list I have been given?

I have no contact with the source of my Merrils/Murrils document anymore so I wondered if anyone is researching this name on the Glemsford family history site.

My Mary Murrils was bap 28 Nov 1761 at Glemsford but it is stated she died in 1779 age around 18 if anyone can be of help with this I would share all info with them and offer help in return with any genealogy issues where possible.

I can also help with research issues concerning Clare Suffolk marriages from the 1750s to 1900 so if you need help please contact me.

Thank You.

Nigel Rutter

Nigel's email address is with me if anyone can help him sort out these issues.
